Internal Audit - The Bureau of Internal Audit is responsible for providing management with an independent appraisal of activities within the Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH).
Louisiana Children's Health Insurance Program - LaCHIP is a health insurance program designed to bring quality health care to currently uninsured children and youth up to the age of 19 in Louisiana. Children can qualify for coverage under LaCHIP using higher income standards.

Legal Services - The Bureau of Legal Services provides legal services to the Department of Health and Hospitals only. The Bureau of Legal Services does not provide legal services or advice to third parties. Further, the Bureau of Legal Services does not issue legal opinions unless the request comes from department personnel.
Licensing Boards - In accordance with R.S. 36:803, professional licensing boards have sole responsibility for the regulation, examination, certification, licensing and enforcement of the practice act of their professions. The Department has responsibility only for budget review for compliance with all accounting, reporting, auditing, and review requirements, and review of procurement, contract management, and fees for the boards.

Office of Management & Finance - The Office of Management and Finance (OMF), directed by the DHH Undersecretary, manages a $3.7 billion budget. The Undersecretary oversees the State Medicaid program, as well as, eight administrative divisions with departmental responsibilities for budget preparation, financial planning, purchasing, personnel, accounting, data processing and development of strategic and operational plans.
Office of the Secretary - Provides leadership and
technical support services, while maximizing resources, in order to fulfill the mission of
the Department. Reporting to the Secretary are the Deputy Secretary and the
Undersecretary, as well as, the General
Counsel, and the Bureaus of Internal Audit and Communications & Inquiry Services.
Reporting through the Deputy Secretary to the Secretary are the four main Program Offices
of Alcohol and Drug Abuse; Citizens with Developmental Disabilities; Mental Health; and
Public Health, as well as, the DHH Medical Director and the DHH Director of Operations for
the administrative regions.

Protective Services - The Bureau of Protective Services is designated by the Louisiana Department of Hospitals as the agency responsible for carrying out the mandate of Louisiana Revised Statute 14:403.2 with regard to disabled adults ages 18-59 and emancipated minors who live in unlicensed and non-regulated settings and for managing the protective services programs in DHH administered facilities.
