Post Polio Awareness & Support Society of Minnesota

Our organization is new.  We were just chartered as a nonprofit corporation in the State of Minnesota in 2002 and received our preliminary finding as a 501(c)(3) organization from the IRS in early 2003.  We are working with a group in British Columbia who call themselves PPASS (pronounced pass) BC.  We have taken the name PPASS MN, which stands for Post Polio Awareness & Support Society of Minnesota.
Currently we have five chapters meeting throughout the state.  They are:

Brainerd/Baxter - meets first Monday each month at 11:30 a.m.

St. Cloud - meets first Thursday in the McKinley Education Center
        216 8th Ave N, Waite, Park, MN
Meetings are from 1:00 to 2:30
        Contact:  Gale Erdmann (320) 529-6500 x6271
Gale.Erdmann@isd742.org

West Metro (Twin Cities area) - meets second Monday each month at 1 p.m. (half-hour social time precedes and follows meeting)

The organization also has a fairly large collection of articles, books, and videos on polio and post polio syndrome that are available to our members.  We are willing to try and help people establish local Chapters/support groups in their areas.  Contact person is Secretary Larry Kohout who can be reached at (952) 835-9714 or via E-mail at larrykohout@comcast.net with PPASS MN in the subject line.
